Known as the gentle giant of the cat family, these friendly, sweet-tempered and easy to train cats are wonderful companions for any type of household. Maine Coon cats are generally sociable, loyal, intelligent and fairly independent. These wonderful cats do seek a moderate amount of human interaction however. While friendly towards children, Maine Coon cats can be intimidating to some due to their larger size. Daily conversation includes chirps, trills, and purrs with the occasional meow.
